When this happens, play continues as if nothing happened. Let: A let is when a ball hits the net on a serve yet still lands legally in the opposing square. ![]() Juniors: Juniors are pickleball players who fall in the age range between seven and 19.Game: An entire pickleball game consists of any number of rallies until one of the teams reaches 11 points.Should a player spike the ball hard at one of the opponents, it is considered a zinger. Therefore, players will sometimes aim at their opponents in an attempt to hit them for the point. Zinger: Should a ball ever hit a player, it is the striking team’s point.This puts a forward spinning motion on the ball, making it jump forward when it hits the ground. Topspin: Hitting the ball by rolling over your wrist.Usually, players spike the ball after the opponents hit it too high in the air. Spike: To hit the ball downward with a lot of speed.Layout: When a player ducks for cover to dodge a ball flying at them.Players will often perform a dink to alter the pace of the game. Dink: To barely tap the ball over the net so it lands in the opposing team's kitchen.When a ball hits the ground with backspin, it can sometimes bounce backward or stop in place. Backspin: A spin placed on the ball by cutting under it, causing it to rotate backward in the air.Backhand: To hit the ball with your dominant hand on your non-dominant side by swinging the paddle with your palm facing toward you. ![]()
